Say what!!! It's been over a month since I have been here! Let me catch ya up...In the last month we have celebrated Baby Keston's 1st birthday (sniff, sniff), had the last day of school (hallelujah) and had loads of fun! But I'll have to update on those things later because.... this boy has been accident free all day!!! Let me say that again... ACCIDENT FREE ALL DAY!!! YAHOO!! We went straight to Toys-R-Us and bought a toy!!!
We started this potty training thing F.O.R.E.V.E.R. ago! He had every excuse in the book as to why he couldn't use the potty! He would say, 'How 'bout my diaper!" or "It not workin'!" But while we were at the library Monday, he needed a diaper change and I didn't bring the diaper bag in because we weren't going to be there long enough. I couldn't just let him stay all stanky, so I cleaned him up and explained that he had to be a big boy and not go pee pee because he wasn't wearing a diaper! IT WORKED! We ran errands the rest of the day and he did great!
It's kind of sad because now he's a big boy... that must have a blue blankie to fall asleep... but he's given up bottles, paci's, and now diapers! Where's my baby?? I don't know if this momma can take all this! Although, it's nice to not have to wipe this booty, cute as it may be!

These are the best days of our life...
This evening I was reminded of how quickly time will fly by and before I know it, Asher and Keston will be driving us home from church or having their final birthday of their teen years. About a month ago, I started writing down all the funny things Asher says, and it seems like he comes up with crazier things every day that makes us laugh.
When he's ready to go somewhere, he'll say "Momma's car, or Dadda's truck"
If you ask him if he wants to go to the bathroom on the big potty, "No, it's too big!" or "it not wore-kin", whatever that means! Or if you say, "Did you go poopy?" He's quick to say, "NOT ME!"
When he's ready to go somewhere, he'll say "Momma's car, or Dadda's truck"
Whenever Keston does something that Asher thinks he shouldn't be doing, he is quick to say, "Keston do dat!"
When he's ready to eat, He let's you know by saying "eat, eat, un-gree!"
If Asher walks into a room and wants to turn the lights on, he says, "make it sunny!"
When he tries to convince you to let him have a coke he refers to it as "black juice!"
And he's always sure to use his manners and say, "fank you!" But, it's not just any "fank you" he has to use his hand to motion along with it. We have no idea where he got that!
He loves to find "clues" and sing about the days of the week, colors and shapes! His favorite story to hear at bed time is "The Three Wittle Pigs" and we have pray for everything from our friends, "C C Corbin and Bishop" to the alphabet!
He loves to hear music and will say, "Dance Momma, Dance!" Or "Cwap your hands, Momma, Fass-er, fass-er!"
There is never a dull moment as long as Asher is around! He brings so much laughter into our lives. We are bracing ourselves for the fun and excitment that both Asher and Keston have in store for us!

Here Fishy, Fishy, Fishy
This past weekend we had a busy but fun time! I had completely forgot that Keston had a doctor's appointment to recheck his ears. He had had 2 ear infections over the past month (his first and only 2) and the doctor wanted to check to make sure that everything had cleared up this time around. So I rushed out of school Friday afternoon and picked the boys up from daycare and ran over to the doctor's office. Everything looked good!
Asher had been begging me to go fishing, so after the doctor's appointment, we ran home and threw some clothes in the suitcase and decided to surprise Papa and Mimi with a visit. We were all prepared to shout, "SURPRISE" but they weren't home! They had decided to go out to dinner and a movie. Thankfully Grannie lives around the corner so we loaded up and went and spent the evening with her. Asher enjoyed "swimming" in her large whirl-pool tub and playing with the ponies that were mine as a little girl. After everyone was all clean, we headed back to Papa and Mimi's and snuggled in and waited for the party animals to come home! But it was them that surprised us, because we had fallen asleep waiting on them to come home!
The next morning Asher and Papa headed to the garden and when they returned Asher stated that he needed boots! So since we were headed to the farm to finish, we made a stop to buy some boots!
After about 3 minutes of fishing, Asher caught his first fish and then decided he had had enough and it was time to break in his new boots. He walked up and down the "mountain" aka "the hill" hunting for rocks. Once we were all settled and fishing, we would hear a loud splash and see the satisfaction on Asher's face as he would throw the big rocks in the pond! He still hasn't quite caught on to the whole concept of fishing. But at least he looks cute doing it! And that's all that matters, right?

Breaking in his boots... now he's a real cowboy!

Happy Birthday, Dr. Seuss
I know that Dr. Seuss' birthday was several weeks ago, but I wanted to make sure that I kept up with these adorable pictures of the boys. For Halloween the boys were Thing 1 and Thing 2 from The Cat in the Hat, so it was only natural that Asher and Keston wear them for Dr. Seuss' birthday! One of the girls that I teach with had these cute hats that her first graders were wearing to celebrate and lucky for us, she had extra!
